Experiences and Approaches
Yasmine is a Counsellor who works with children, adolescents and millennial adults. She conducts sessions in English and Mandarin.
She has experience supporting children and adolescents on issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, interpersonal relationship concerns, perfectionism, body-image issues, parenting problems, and adverse childhood experiences.
Having worked with corporate clients (e.g., AIA, Lockton) as an EAP Counsellor, she is also well attuned to the pressures of the corporate world. Across both online and offline settings, she has addressed issues such as workplace stress and burnout, interpersonal conflicts, career uncertainty, trauma, relationship issues, depression, anxiety and self-esteem. She also has substantial experience with millennial mental health.
Yasmine adopts a client-centred approach, and her therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness. She has a high regard for her clients’ capabilities and believes in safe counsellor-client partnership. During sessions, she also regularly equips them with knowledge (e.g., neuroscience research), useful resources (e.g., worksheets) and evidence-based practices (e.g., mindfulness and gratitude exercises). With Yasmine’s guidance, her clients have developed greater self-awareness about their past and current patterns of behaviour, and found greater fulfilment in their lives.
Background
Yasmine graduated from the National University of Singapore and Monash University in Australia. Her other previous work experiences include counselling individuals and groups in emergency and high-risk situations at prison and community settings
