Introduction
Werner is a clinical psychologist from Norway who specialises in working with emotional distress, relational struggles and attention difficulties. Werner was diagnosed with ADD during adulthood and appreciates working together with individuals with neurodivergent traits.
Werner offers online sessions for teens 14 years or older, adults and parents.
Specialties
Since moving to Singapore early 2022, while working for TOC, Werner has also been providing online clinical support for corporate clients through two Norwegian EAP service providers, Eyr and Speare. Werner understands how to best support clients working in a corporate setting.
Before moving from Europe, Werner attained extensive experience working in the public healthcare of Norway, primarily with marginalised adolescents and families in crisis. The challenges these families faced were multiple and complex, often including norm deviating, self destructive, and disruptive behaviour.
Werner’s therapeutic approach is client-centred, in which promoting the autonomy and integrity of the individual are paramount. His style will flexibly be tailored to the unique narrative, resources, needs, and goals of the people he meets. He employs perspectives and therapeutic interventions from third wave Cognitive behavioural therapy approaches of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT).
Background
Werner recently moved to Taiwan together with his wife and miniature dachshund. He is soon to become a father to a baby girl, and aims to settle in Taiwan – eager to learn both the culture and language. After moving to Taiwan he started a formal education to study Mandarin at university level and when he is not seeing clients online he is either doing homework or doing dad stuff (he is still figuring out how to dad).
During his free time, if there ever will be some again, he loves to immerse himself in the local culture and history, and he is an avid bouldering climber. He is excited to eventually take up freediving again and exploring marine life in and around Taiwan. Werner’s guilty pleasure is playing computer games and he can easily resonate with teens and adults who struggle to limit their screen time.
