Therapeutic Approach
Violeta uses a variety of therapeutic modalities that allows her to personalize therapy to each individual’s needs. She is trained in and uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT).
Guided by a passion for helping people navigate through life transitions, Violeta is highly empathic, nurturing and friendly, which makes it easy for her to understand and relate to people.
Violeta supports adults dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional dysregulation, stress and burnout, life transitions, professional challenges, parental issues, sexual orientation and gender identity concerns, anger management, grief. She often works with neurodiverse clients (ASD and ADHD) and clients with trauma, using a multimodalities approach. Violeta specializes in working with clients with bipolar disorder, using the specifically designed for bipolar clients Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy.
Violeta works with adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicidal ideation, trauma, self-esteem, perfectionism, interpersonal conflicts, school stress, identity challenges (including gender and sexuality), parental conflicts and divorce. Violeta is very familiar with the challenges parents face. To ensure lasting improvements with adolescent clients, she works together with parents through the course of the therapy.
Background
Violeta is a mother and has been living in Singapore since 2015. Previously a lawyer and an entrepreneur she is well versed in the challenges of demanding jobs. Violeta has worked at law firms and at the United Nations as a lawyer, and in both corporate and entrepreneurial environments as a businessperson. She has lived in 7 countries on 5 continents and has a vast experience dealing with people from various cultures, backgrounds and ages. She can provide therapy is English, Portuguese and Bulgarian.
