Therapuetic Approach
Vicky uses an integrative approach to counselling with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and play-based approaches being her main therapeutic tools.
Vicky is an approachable, supportive and respectful counsellor who works collaboratively with clients to increase their awareness and strengthen their resources to cope with any challenges they may have.
Her background in education has given her a good understanding of the demands school puts on young people, along with developmental parameters both socially and emotionally. She works with children of all ages in supporting their mental health, while collaborating with families and schools. Vicky works with young people who struggle with emotional regulation, stress and anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, body image, exam stress, social anxiety, parenting and anger and control issues. Vicky also works with neurodiverse individuals and their families with diagnoses of ADHD and ASD.
Vicky also works with adults in the areas of stress and anxiety, self-esteem, social connections/interactions, depression, unhelpful behaviours, parenting challenges and navigating the complexities of expatriate life.
Background
Vicky is originally from the UK and has called Singapore home since 2004. Prior to her career as a counsellor she worked as a teacher in international schools in England, Turkey and Singapore. Vicky is married and is parent to two sons; a tween and a teenager. She believes that while life is full of challenges, a deep breath, second chances and a little humor can go a long way.
