Therapeutic Approach
With a heart full of passion and a wealth of experience in supporting children with diverse needs, Pooja is a dedicated and experienced professional in the field of paediatric therapy. Her expertise encompasses working with conditions such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia, Visual-Motor and Handwriting difficulties, Global Delays, Neuromotor dysfunctions including cerebral palsy, ataxia etc. along with various other learning difficulties / multiple disabilities. Her practice settings include private clinics, educational institutions, and home-based environments.
Pooja is passionate about focusing on children to adolescence. Her expertise lies in nurturing those little ones grappling with sensory processing issues, emotional regulation, and social interaction challenges.
Pooja’s impact extends beyond the clinic. She has also been a part of several International Schools. Her collaboration with the schools has equipped her with effective classroom strategies, enabling her to enhance the school experience for her young clients. She is adept at bridging the gap between therapy and education, making regular school visits to tailor classroom environments that support each child’s unique needs.
Pooja’s professional development is marked by comprehensive training in various specialized areas. This includes Administration and Hands-on Comprehensive Assessment in Ayres Sensory Integration (ASI), using the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT)), Clinical reasoning with ASI frameworks, the Therapeutic Listening Programme (TLP), DIR Floortime 101, and Samonas Auditory intervention. She is also trained in the Handwriting Without Tears Program, Social Skills Training as per Alex Kelly’s methodologies, Sensory Modalities in the Treatment of Childhood Disabilities, Enhancement of Upper Extremity Function, a course conducted by Kimberly Barthel, MORE (Motor, Oral, Respiratory, Eyes) techniques and various other courses on sensory integration and praxis. She is also formally and informally trained in Motor Control and its problems and NDT.
Pooja’s approach is always child centred. Her multidisciplinary training and hands-on experience of many years position her as a proficient and compassionate practitioner dedicated to the holistic development and well-being of children in her care. Personal Information
Originally from Mumbai, Pooja now finds her home in Singapore since 2002, where she balances her professional life with the joys of raising two wonderful children. Outside of work, Pooja is passionate about yoga and meditation, and cherishes family time, reflecting her commitment to well-being and mindfulness.
