Therapeutic Approach
Lyndsay approaches counselling with a strong belief that everyone has an innate ability to grow and change in ways authentic to their own way of being. This is often called a person-centred approach. Grounded with this belief, Lyndsay also utilizes evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy to supplement her clients counselling journeys.
Lyndsay has experience working with client’s with depression, anxiety, anger, grief, and trauma. She has worked previously in hospital, hospice, and non-profit settings and has already completed over 100 supervised clinical counselling hours.
Personal information
Lyndsay grew up a small-town Texas girl but has always been drawn to the cities of the world. She has been privileged to live on three continents and, after falling for and marrying a Singaporean, has called the Little Red Dot home for seven years. She enjoys getting lost in a good book or a bustling hawker centre (and eating all the delicious food). She values community and spending time with her family. These days she especially enjoys a good family dance party with her husband and young daughter. Being married to a local, Lyndsay has a unique glimpse into both local and ex-pat worlds in Singapore. As a parent she understands the joys and challenges of parenthood while navigating a multicultural family with relatives all over the world. At the end of the day, though, she understands that being human is not always easy and that everyone could use a thoughtful and trained listening ear every once in a while.
