Training and Clinical Experience
Kathryn completed both undergraduate and post graduate training in Canada. She worked in local school psychology services in Alberta, Canada for 8 years working in a range of schools and community outreach programs where she had the opportunity to identify and support neurodivergence. During this time, she had the opportunity to work on multi-faceted teams of professionals to support the specific needs of her client, and had the unique opportunity to work with a wide range of culturally diverse clients. Through psycho-educational assessment, diagnosis and a wrap-around approach to support and therapy, she has helped children and adolescents discover and celebrate their unique strengths.
After leaving Canada, Kathryn worked in Sydney, Australia where she provided psychological support to adolescents at an elite private school. At this time, she also took on the role of Head of Student Wellbeing where she worked closely with multiple educational stakeholders to provide wrap-around support for all students to provide a framework for functional emotional literacy in everyday living.
Kathryn is a neurodiversity affirming child psychologist. She recognises and supports the unique differences of each child or adolescent and works to meet them where they are in their development. She believes in a holistic approach to support and works in partnership with the child, parent(s), school and other stakeholders to achieve the best outcome for the child. Kathryn supports children and families with a range of needs including learning challenges, behaviour, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and self-esteem. Kathryn uses a range of evidence-based models to support children and families, including CBT, ACT, DBT, Solution Focused, Mindfulness and emotional literacy programs (RULER).
Personal Information
Kathryn grew up in Canada, is married to an Australian and they are raising two third culture kids (TCK) here in Singapore. She has lived in Singapore for the past 8 years. She understands the challenges that come with living abroad, but also celebrates the opportunities and blessings that come with being able to call Singapore home. She wholeheartedly believes in the power of a supportive community enveloping each and every child to cheer them on as they grow and develop in their individual lives.
