Training and clinical experience
Annelise graduated from the National University of Singapore and has worked in private practice since 2019. Apart from her training in Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E) by the University of Oxford, she provides therapy using approaches from Schema Therapy, Attachment-focused Therapy, ACT, DBT, and CBT. Annelise specialises in treating eating disorders and disordered eating behaviours. She works with a multidisciplinary team (e.g. GPs, psychiatrists, dieticians) across both public and private mental health settings.
Therapy Approaches
Annelise has a gentle presence and enjoys working with individuals struggling with mood and anxiety issues, OCD, unhealthy relationship patterns, low self-esteem, and body image issues. Annelise places a huge emphasis on building a comfortable, non-judgmental, and trusting environment where individuals could understand the root of their issues and work on finding ways to create a meaningful life.
Professional roles
Outside of clinical work, Annelise lectures at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), teaching Psychology modules to undergraduates. Annelise is also a strong believer in mental health advocacy and education. She conducts mental wellness talks and engages in media interviews to combat social stigma around mental health issues.
