Therapeutic Approach
Kasey uses neuro-affirming therapy, recognising the uniqueness and abilities of neuro-diverse children, teenagers, and adults. She is committed to collaborating with her clients and their advocates to help them acquire the skills, tools, and strategies necessary to fully participate in all aspects of their lives, whether at home, work, school, or play. Kasey has experience working with clients who have autism, ADHD, dyspraxia, dysgraphia, dyslexia and developmental delays.
Kasey employs a multimodal therapy approach that is tailored to her clients’ needs and interests. She has worked with a number of different intervention approaches, including DIR Floortime, relationship-based self-regulation and developmental play, sensory integration and sensory coaching, and sensory-motor intervention. To help her clients be more active in their daily lives, Kasey employs functional intervention strategies like executive functioning training, self-care training, and environmental and task analysis. Kasey believes in the transformative power of education and regularly hosts parent workshops as well as professional development training for employees. She also creates infographics about neurodiversity and occupational therapy in order to make healthcare information more accessible to the public.
Training and Professional Experience
Kasey graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) degree in 2006. Her desire to enhance the healthcare experiences of her clients prompted her to pursue post-graduate business administration coursework.
Kasey has gained professional experience as an occupational therapist in Singapore, the United Kingdom, and Australia. She also works with international families who visit Singapore for the purpose of receiving occupational therapy treatment. Kasey possesses experience in diverse treatment environments, encompassing both private practice and schools. She has established two private occupational therapy practices, managed three occupational therapy departments, and served as the clinical director of a child development centre. Kasey also has experience training and supervising occupational therapists.
Background
Kasey has been living abroad since 2007, but she has kept her Australian sense of humour and zest for life. She was encouraged to live an active lifestyle while growing up in Australia, which she still enjoys today. Kasey can be found in her spare time pursuing her interests in art and science. Photography and collage are her favourite forms of artistic expression. Her scientific interests include human movement and neuroscience.
